Earth Day Celebrationbendearthday.com

This is the 20th year Bend has celebrated Earth Day. It's a widly popular community event with interactive displays, art, live music, performances, and great hands-on activities for all ages. Don't miss the Procession of the Species Parade either!!!


When: Saturday, April 18th, 2009 (parade staging starts at 10am)
Where: On Louisiana Avenue next to McMenamins in downtown Bend

Rules:
No written words, no live animals, no motorized vehicles
Who: Everyone! We want drummers, musicians on homemade instruments, dancers, families, friends, students--everyone is welcome!  Make your own costume or get together with a group and make a costume together (long snakes, flocks of birds, schools of fish, fields of wildflowers, colors of the rainbow) and join the parade.  Let your imagination and mother nature be your guide!  Call 541-385-6908 with questions.

This week, All Around Bend has been sent to our printer. Expect it in a number of local stores by next month. I'll be posting an Amazon.com link shortly. I also plan to sell it through a shopping cart feature on this site!

Next week, Deschutes will be holding a charity benefit for Sharon McMorris (location will be the lower warehouse, not the Mountain Room). $20 suggested donation at the door, $5 raffle tickets. Awesome raffle packages including weekends at the coast, spas, year supply of beer, etc. Some packages are valued up to $2500!
