About the Author

Hi, Geof here. Thanks for visiting the companion website to "All Around Bend", a travel guide for Bend and all the fun stuff around it.

I filled this book with attractions, hiking, breweries, skiing trails, and everything else I could pack into the pages! It was great fun writing and I hope you enjoy not only reading it, but getting out and experiencing some of the great activities mentioned inside.

About Me:

I was born in the Philadelphia area and have always had a passion for the outdoors. I've hiked several hundred miles of the Appalachian Trail (and I'd desperately love to thru-hike it some day!)

I'm an avid writer, computer geek  and photograper. I have my Political Science degree from West Virginia University, and spent many long weekends exploring the Blue Ridge mountains in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Virginia. After some long post-college road trips, venturing as far as Alaska, I got the itch to move West permanently.

I moved to Bend several years ago and fell in love with the place. It was not long before I was telling born-and-raised locals about hidden spots, hikes and great attractions all around Bend. Combined with my passion for photography and writing, a book just seemed like a perfect outlet. I currently live in Bend with my beautiful wife, my co-author dog Jaeda, and work for Deschutes Brewery.
